The Prison

"The Prison" written by Bernard Malamud, talked about a man called Tommy Castelli that was obliged to do things that he did not want to do in his life. This essay will analyse the symbolism of the story, which are the store, the little girl and the tissues paper.
 

The first symbolism, which is the store, symbolises Tommy's inprisonment and his horrible life, also that he did not choose the type of life that he has. "Tommy would marry her and the father-in-law would, out of his savings".


The second is the little girl that represented the past of Tommy and the bad things that he used to do. He saw a little of himself in her and he knew what she was going through. "He found himself thinking about the way his life had turned out, and then about this girl, moved that she was so young and a dief.

Finally, the tissue paper symbolises a distraction because in that way she could steal the chocolate bar. When Tommy went to the back to get the tissues, the little girl take advantage and steal the chocolates. "he had noticed, when he went to get the paper, that she steal the chocolates".

In my opinion this story teaches children that they do not have to steal nothing from anywhere.

My mysterious friend

Jhon was my best friend, he was a lovely person. We were on a trip in London, we went to "the Big Ben" when Jhon recieved a call, It was the doctor that wanted to say to him  that his mother was very ill, when he listened  to the doctor he wanted to come back again to Argentina to vist his mother. I told him that were missing two days to return home, so it didnt have sense to return that day, but Jhon didnt care about that, so we returned to the hotel, we prepared all our things and when we finally finished we went to the street to call a taxi. When the taxi came, I remembered that I left my bag in the room. Jhon was in a hurry, so I told him that is was not necessary to wait for me, so we agreed to get together at the airport.
One hour later I was at the airport, I looked for him but I didnt find him, I asked to a police man if he see Jhon, the police man told me that he dont see him. I continued looking for him, but finally I didnt find him. The day on the hotel was the last time I saw him.

Dear diary,

Today I was in the candy store, I was very bored as usual until a little girl came, she wanted two colour  tissues, one yellow and the other one red, I went to look for the tissues and I gave them to the little girl, then the girl went away. When she went away I felt bored again.

Dear diary,

Today I was in the store and the little girl came again, she asked me for the same tissues, so I went to look for them. Rosa had put a mirrow on the wall, so I could see what was happening in the store and also because she wanted to know what I was doing, so I went to the back, I saw the little girl stealing two chcolates bars. When I came back I didn't say anything to her because I didn't  have the courage, so dear diary that was what happened to me today.

Description of a famous person: Miley Cyrus

In the L /L Writing class we had to write a description of a famous person.

Miley Cyrus.

She was born in 1992 in Tennessee. Her father is Billy Ray Cyrus. The first time that I saw her was on a T.V show that is called "Hannah Montana". She has started working on T.V since she was a little girl. She also sings.


She is medium- heigth, when she was young she had brown hair but now she is blond, Also she has light- blue eyes  and she has some tatoos.

She change her personality during adolescence and early adulthood. When she had a fight with her boyfriend she change a lot her personality, she was a different woman.

Miley's hobbies are acting, bicycling, dancing for shows, riding horses on a field since she was a little girl, listening to music, and she also likes eating vegetarian food.

She was nominated in "American Music Awards", "Grammy Awards" and she won at "Teen Choice Awards". In my opinion she sings very wellbut I like when she was a young girl.
